Accessibility Design Practice

Starting in Adobe InDesign, we apply design best practices such as proper use of styles, headings, alt text for images, and logical reading order. This ensures your publication, report, pitch deck, or presentation is built on an accessible foundation from the very beginning.

If a document is not created this way upfront, remediation in Adobe Acrobat can only patch or overwrite so much. Many less experienced creators rely solely on Acrobat remediation to pass accessibility checks, often skipping critical design principles. Because we design with accessibility in mind from the start, the Acrobat remediation process is streamlined and built on a solid foundation.

Remediation & ADA Compliance

Once the design is complete, we use Adobe Acrobat Pro for remediation. This essential step includes tagging the PDF correctly, setting up bookmarks and metadata, verifying reading order, and ensuring all interactive elements comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and Section 508 standards. We also evaluate color contrast, font legibility, and overall navigability to meet or exceed ADA compliance requirements.
